Cathy's Paintings
Dancing Under the Stars $375
I used colored pencil to create this 3-d study. The feet were applied on top of the black and white grid. The balls were added to give another element of visual dimension. I wanted a whimsical element added so I used the cut away floor to show the mice dancing the cha cha! I thought it came together very well.
19" x 23" framed
Map of the Lake ($175)
This map of Lake Lanier is done in watercolor. I love the way the color of the water is light and dark. You could have a custom section of the lake maped showing your section of the lake any lake. I will be teaching a class on adding type to your paintings at the Quinlin art center.
Gloria ($300)
16" x 20" on gallery canvas. (deep edges) I love the sun and moon paintings. I am thinking of doing a series of sun and moon paintings. I think the smaller sun rays at the top look like bangs. This one reminds me of Gloria as in most high. Or Gloria in Excelsis Daeo the Christmas Song.
Froggy came a courting ($350)
I painted this 16" x 20" acrylic on canvas with some of my students. I would have to say there are no real frogs just like this. Closest may be the tri-colored poison - arrow frog from Ecuador. Kids just love frogs today. The frog turned out so nice. Originally on a background of green. I felt like it just was not finished maybe some lily pads would look nice. They do. I Love it now.
Mountain Fresh ($300) (SOLD)
This painting would be great in a laundry room. It's 16" x 20" and a collage type painting. The clothing is cut out and applied on top of the painting. I loved the way the sky and mountains came together. There is alot of texture in the painting that you can't see in the photo. I have this in the studio right now and will be taking this to Art on the Square in Gainesville April 23rd.
Mountain Delight Acrylic ($ 350 )
11 x 14" gallery canvas. You know Roger & I love to canoe and kayak. This turned out so nice. The reflection of the paddler with the sunset. It has a really good feel. Transports you to the moment.
Shades of Georgia Watercolor ($300)
16" x 19" including frame. Georgia Okeeff made this south west style of painting famous. That's why I titled the skull this way. I painted this with my drawing class out by the creek one fall day. The skull was from one of our cows. She had the best horns and friendly. Old age took her. I thought this turned out nice.
Strawberry Time Acrylic ($300)
18" x 24" gallery canvas. The artist group said it would be nice to have a wine glass painting or wine bottles to hang at the Chateau Elan winery gallery for our show. I could see this in a sunny breakfast area. I used to serve the kids their orange juice in glasses like this. They felt so special. I love the strawberries too.
