Items needed for drawing class are:

9 x 12 spiral drawing pad and a pad of tracing paper

erasers white & kneaded

soft drawing pencils ( I like the Drawing Ebony ) a nice selection of H & B (Hard and Soft leads)

Wal Mart has a small drawing kit for $3.59 and Hobby Lobby has one for $5.00  also Michaels has one for $5.00 Nothing too expensive to begin with

a folder with pockets for loose drawings

a ruler or a small triangle

blending stumps - these are paper pencils with a cone shaped end any size will do we will be learning how to use this tool.

Special art projects require special tools. Lineloum carving tools have been purchased for the carving class. Specific papers are needed for printing. A stone carving kit was purchased for our carving class. These extra items are purchased by the student or you send in a supply fee.

Most of the extra supplies can be purchased at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

I offer an advanced art & drawing techniques class.

The students bring their own drawing supplies and I give them advice on how to use their tools better. During the first 5 - 10 min. of class we work on a subject to quickly get a drawing on paper. This loosens the kids up. Then we move on to the lesson for about 20min. This Fall we will be working on longer drawings to be completed over 3 or 4 class times. We have worked on lineloum block printing and we are currently working on still life fruit drawings. Our book is Mastering the Art of Drawing by Ian Sidaway & Sarah Hoggett. You may purchase this at Borders Books in Buford.

Currently the advanced class meets  Friday 2:15- 3:45 age 10-14. We will meet for 3 weeks and take the 4th week off. Fridays can get busy and I want everyone to enjoy coming to art class. We begin on 9/5. Please let me know if you are interested in this class and the time does not work for you. I want to try to be flexible.
