Drawing students who continue to master the 3-D techniques meet for 1.5 hours weekly. We are using the Mark Kistler bookDrawing in 3-D. We use a variety of supplies - erasers, hard and soft pencils, blending stumps or tortillions, tracing paper, ruler and sketch paper. I like the kind with a spiral binding for keeping all your papers together. Our book has lessons in buildings, bugs, animals, cartoon like creatures and many more. We are combining several of the drawings to create interesting compositions. These students are such budding artists and have lots of creativity which inspires me.

Items needed for drawing classes are:

9 x 12 spiral drawing pad and a pad of tracing paper

erasers white & kneaded

soft drawing pencils ( I like the Drawing Ebony ) a nice selection of H & B (Hard and Soft leads)

Wal Mart has a small drawing kit for $3.59 and Hobby Lobby has one for $5.00  also Michaels has one for $5.00 Nothing too expensive to begin with

a folder with pockets for loose drawings

a ruler or a small triangle

blending stumps - these are paper pencils with a cone shaped end any size will do we will be learning how to use this tool.

If you order your book from Amazon they have the drawing pencil kits and blending stumps you can use the link to view all the items on my wish list they have available

We will be working out of Mark Kistler's Draw Squad (you can look through this book on Amazon.com). He is the artist on the Imagination Station. You purchase this book for your child from Amazon.com. Our class is an ongoing drawing class that builds on techniques we are introducing over the course. Attendance is strongly advised to see regular improvement. We are covering topics like: Shading, shadows, blending, 3-d,  fast sketching, still life subject, facial features and others. Mark Kistler has an interesting way of approaching these subjects that I think the kids will like. I have some technical terms that I go over. And we get busy on the days drawing assignment. Some of the topics we will go over include overlapping, shadows, foreshortening & size just to mention a few.  We finish up by all showing our work and discussing what we like and dislike about our drawings. If time allows I give the student’s time to draw whatever they enjoy. We have drawn eggs, railroad tracks, pumpkins, constructed a barn and turning cubes into objects. Currently this class meets Tuesday 4-5 and Friday 4-5. Over the year we will cover about 26 lessons. Yearly cost is about $275 and you pay for 4 classes at a time. Cost is about $40 per month depending on how many weeks in the month.
Pictures from the classes. The students with their  great artwork. Look at that shading and composition!!

Introduction to 3-D drawing   This class is just right for age 7 and up who are interested in drawing better. I will introduce shading and 3 dimensional techniques. We will learn how to put shapes together and draw animals, cars, objects and people. Our main objective is to gain confidence in drawing. With more cuts to school budgets it makes it hard for the students to gain this confidence. Daily drawing will build this confidence and reinforce the techniques being taught in this class. You will be amazed at the progress your child makes in a weekly drawing class.
